How to Sign RUTA Orders

Signing your RUTA orders Is actually a pretty easy task. The problem is, for those who rarely ever sign RUTA orders, remembering the process can make you feel as though you have a slight case of amnesia. So let's go down memory lane and recall the process to sign your RUTA orders.

These Instructions are assuming that you or someone else has already submitted your RUTA orders. Also, remember you cannot sign your RUTA orders until your final day of your orders. EXAMPLE: Let's say your RSD was FEB 1 and 2 and your RUTA days are FEB 19 and 20. You cannot sign your orders In AROWS until FEB 20. The AROWS system will not let you. That being said, let's begin.

  • Go to the Air Force portal and type "AROW" In the search window

  • Click on arows ang when it pops up

  • Under SUGGESTED LINKS click AROWS (Air National Guard Reserve Order Writing System)

  • Or you can go directly to AROWS using this link https://arows.sscno.nmci.navy.mil/arows/

  • The next screen will have text that begins with "You are accessing a U.S. Government (USG) Information System (IS)"

  • Click on the OK button

  • Go the Please select a Menu drop down menu and select Member

  • Click on Awaiting Action In the side menu under Inactive Duty Individual Certification

  • If you have RUTA orders submitted you will see them here with a tracking number

  • Under Action you will see the word Edit In blue letters

  • Click on Edit

  • You will then see your RUTA orders detailing your original duty period and your new duty period

  • NOTE: Original duty period Is your RSD | NEW duty period Is your RUTA dates

  • MAKE SURE THOSE DATES ARE CORRECT!

  • It Is up to you to verify those dates before signing your orders

  • If the dates are Incorrect, Immediately let whoever prepared them for you know so they can make the necessary corrections

  • If the dates are correct click Yes located under those dates and click Next

  • The next screen will give you one more chance to verify before signing

  • At the bottom of the page you should see the following message; You are about to digitally sign the Inactive Duty described above. Click "Sign" to proceed. Click "Back" If any of the Information Is Incorrect.

  • NOTE: After you click Sign It could take up to 10 minutes to go through

  • If It takes longer than 10 minutes you may need to refresh

  • Click on In Progress and you should now see your orders located here

  • DO NOT CLICK ON "PULL BACK" It will cancel your orders

  • That Is all you have to do

  • Now you just wait for the orders to process so you can get paid

  • This can take 1-2 weeks
